And Now For the Real Halloween Surprise!

When everyone else was leaving and Wayne and I were walking back into the house, Robin, Chad and Sadie came in with us.  My thought: you're not leaving -- why not?

But, in they came and as we stood in the kitchen chatting, Robin had to call attention to her shirt, which had previously been hidden under another shirt.  This was her announcement to us that Sadie was going to be a big sister next year.

We had to keep quiet about it for almost a month, but as she is in the 2nd trimester now, we have been granted permission to share the wonderful news.  Baby Hensley is due about June 4.  If this one does the same as Sadie, however, look for his/her appearance around June 11.

Happy?  Oh, yes!

Halloween 2013

I'm not sure Sadie knew quite what to make of all the strange creatures she saw when she came to our house for Halloween.  She was dressed like a pretty little senorita, and look at the group she encountered!

Little Sleeper

When Sadie is ready to go to sleep, she just falls over and sleeps, as shown by the photos. No rocking necessary!

This child is flexible -- no doubt about it.
She usually needs a little nap between her wake-up bottle and time to go to day-care.  Robin just puts her in her play area and after exploring a bit (toys were in the tote), finds a soft spot to drop onto.
This was just a couple of days ago, but it's the same story -- she needs her beauty sleep!
I think Robin left Chad in charge.  Luckily for him, Sadie found another Boppy pillow.

Driver Training

When I went to visit Sadie a few nights ago, I spied a new toy for her enjoyment -- a walker that looks like a sporty little car!

Sadie is 4 1/2 months old now, and as I took photos of her in her car, I noticed expressions that I recognized from when her mom and aunts were growing up.  Expressions that will be nurtured and honed through the years, until as a teenager she will have them perfected.

You're gonna let me drive?
I guess I'll give it a try...

Tell me everything -- I'm listening.  I'm focused.
How long is this going to take?
Geez, Mom --  enough already!
The eye rolling comes naturally to most girls.  It will be absolutely devastating in 10 or 12 years!

Okay, pre-drive prep -- horn, check!
Adjust mirrors, check!  Flipping off the other bozos out there will come later.
I'm outta here -- whoo-hoo!!!
This little girl looks like she's out to conquer the world -- fearless and at full blast!  Just like her mommy.

Sadie and Santa - First Meeting

(a post from Free Form in December of 2012)

In this photo, Sadie is beginning to sense that Santa has designs on her candy-striped shoes.
Okay, I haven't actually spoken to Robin about Sadie's Santa Experience, but from the looks of it, she kept her cool.
Sadie looks very regal here, don't you think?  Santa, on the other hand looks shifty.

Sadie Lucille

(a post from Free Form on September 6, 2012

Even though I'm really tired, I wanted to post a few photos of little Sadie, who arrived on September 4, at 9:21 AM, weighing in at 6 lbs. 14 oz.  She was 20 3/4 inches long and has just the right amount of light brown hair.

Sadie was one week past her due date when she decided to make her move.  All it took was a little encouragement and she rushed to meet all of us.

She is calm and collected.  I really haven't heard her fuss at all.  She drops off to sleep easily and, so far, wakes up quietly.  When she's awake she looks around as if she's really interested in what's going on.  I'm beginning to think that every baby should stay put for 41 weeks!

Sadie's 1st photo
Are you my mommy?
Nana and Sadie
Cookie and Sadie
Daddy, Mommy, and Sadie...looks like she's catching some Z's
Daddy's ring fits almost perfectly!
1st cousins Sadie and Layton...at least one of them looks pretty excited!
Sadie must be having a good dream.  What can it be about?
All of the photos appearing above were taken during Sadie's first day.  The ones appearing below were taken at home today.
Maybe it was something she ate...or is that a happy smile?
Just checking things out.
So sweet!
I thought she might cry, but no...she's just trying out new faces.  Maybe she just thinks she looks really hot in her bikini onesie!

Robin and Chad are amazing...like they've done this before!  I sure hope Sadie stays as laid-back as she has been so far.  She's a keeper.  That's for sure!

The Flying Wasp..errr Falcon

"I christen thee, the Flying Wasp"...any Caddyshack fans??

After many turns and snickers last year,  we did it...we have the Falcon working.  We can even start it without having to squirt a little gas at the motor to fire up.  We have been cruising and fancy free in our families '74 Malibu Falcon ski boat all summer long - the envy of all all our fellow bay friends.

Now, last year - we attempted but had to withstand the humiliation of being pulled in while friends laughed and did circles around us...they had warned us

Summer 2010 - Being towed in by the Brams, spectators circled around us telling us they warned us.

Summer 2011 - She's a go, look at that happy Captain

The Falcon in all its glory.

Nothing like a good Game Warden check to finish off the 4th of July holiday weekend (we passed)
Teaching the girls how you are supposed to sit on the Falcon - ALWAYS up front, but your feet should dangle over the side, still too young for that.

Family Day on the Bay - Fourth of July...with toddlers & kids aboard, these were definite signs that our rowdy group is finally settling down a bit.
